Ingredients:
1 loaf of French or Italian bread, day-old is fine
1-8 oz can of favorite pizza sauce
1-1 1/4 pound of cooked hamburger or pork or combination
4 oz of canned or fresh mushrooms
Green onions
Ham, chopped into small pieces
Pepperoni
Other toppings of choice: peppers, tomato, spinach, olives
Butter - 1-2 Tablespoons
Pizza seasonings
Directions:
Slice the bread in half length wise. Lay on a foil or parchment covered baking sheet. Spread a small amount of butter over it. Cook and drain your meat; add pizza seasoning as desired. Mix a small amount of sauce with the meat. Spread a small amount of ham on the bread then spoon the meat over the bread. Add your desired toppings. Pour the remaining pizza sauce over the toppings. Sprinkle on the mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 degrees until the cheese is melted. Test for proper temperature. Cut into small pieces to serve.
Grandma's Notes: Use a lightly browned loaf of bread. An easy, quick recipe to make at home. Cover any leftovers and place in the fridge. You can reheat in the microwave or oven and often tastes better this way.
