Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter at room temperature
3 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs at room temperature
4 Tbl. cocoa
Sift sugar and cocoa. Cream with the butter for 3-4 minutes. Add vanilla. Then add eggs 1 at a time beating for 5 minutes each time at medium speed. Pour into a graham cracker pie crust. Top with cool whip. To dress it up, top with chocolate shavings or drizzled chocolate. Refrigerate until needed. Best within 1-2 days.
Graham Cracker Crust
1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs (9 sheets)
1/3 cup sugar
6 Tbl. butter
Mix together, press into pie pan and bake for 7 minutes at 375.
Can be easily made Gluten free by using Gluten Free Graham crackers.
Grandma's Notes: Grandma has made this pie hundreds of times if not more. Everyone likes it. This was often requested as a birthday treat. She also makes it into an ice cream dessert by pouring this on top of crushed graham crackers and topping with ice cream in a 9 x 13 pan.
